Here’s what a Pure Cremation funeral plan gives you.

A funeral plan means you’re buying a funeral at today’s prices so that when the time comes, everything is taken care of so family don’t have to worry.

And a Pure Cremation funeral plan saves you over £2,000 compared to a traditional funeral – yet comes with important, caring touches that other funeral plans simply don't offer.

What's more, our Pure Price Promise means everything you need is included, so no-one else ever has to pay a penny.

Your funeral, your way – guaranteed

When someone dies, a single call to us is all it takes. Our complete service includes private ambulance collection, transfer to our own state-of-the-art crematoria and a dignified cremation by our kind, award-winning team in the beautiful, peaceful surroundings of our own parkland.

Afterwards, one of our own team will bring the ashes home to the family, personally and by hand, in a proper urn. And, because family don’t attend the cremation, they can hold any funeral service or send-off they want.

Why do more people choose Pure than anyone else?

Only our funeral plan offers all this:

1. Your own Pure Care Companion. One dedicated person who makes all the arrangements, keeps family informed at every step and takes away the worry.

2. Our Care & Respect Guarantee. The highest standards of care at our own state-of-the-art facilities, from our compassionate, award-winning team.

3. The Pure Price Promise. A fixed, all-inclusive price with nothing more for family to pay, ever. Many other plans have hidden extras. Ours never does.

4. A proper urn and unique ceramic disc. We return ashes in a proper urn you can keep (not a cardboard tube or box, like ‘direct cremation’ plans). And only with our plan do you get a ceramic disc that guarantees the identity of the ashes.

5. Freedom for family to remember you their way. Because family don’t attend the cremation and there’s no ceremony, they can have any funeral service or celebration of life they want – something more personal, perhaps.

6. The safest place for your money. Your money is held in trust and reinsured with the world's largest reinsurer. Ours is the only funeral plan to do this.

What do our customers think?

As well as being awarded 'Best Funeral Plan Provider' for the last two years in a row, we’ve more five-star reviews on Trustpilot, Reviews.io and Google than any other funeral plan and we’re really proud of the feedback we get from families who use our caring, considerate service.

Here’s what our customers say about the team at Pure Cremation:

How does Pure Cremation compare with the alternatives?

One alternative is a traditional funeral arranged by a funeral director. However, these are over £2,000 more expensive and are becoming less popular. Try our free Funeral Costs Calculator to see how much a funeral director where you live might charge.

Another alternative is a ‘direct cremation’ plan. But those prepaid funeral plans may not cover the whole cost, and family might still have to pay towards your funeral. In contrast, our funeral cover is all-inclusive, so there are never any extra costs, making funeral planning easier.

Also, many ‘direct cremation’ plan providers don’t have their own facilities or cremation team, so a different company (one you might not know) will perform the cremation. Whereas with us, you can rest easy knowing we have all our own state-of-the-art facilities and cremation team.

Finally, with Pure, the money from your prepaid funeral plan is kept in an independent trust and reinsured with the world's largest reinsurer, so it's incredibly safe. We don't know of any other funeral provider that offers this. Perhaps that's why we're the UK’s Number 1 choice.

If you wish, you can find out more on how we compare to other funeral plans and alternatives.

What to expect with our plan.

With a Pure Cremation, everything you need for a respectful cremation is included. There's nothing more you or any family would need to pay.

What's included:

Collection from anywhere in mainland England, Wales and Scotland, including the Isle of Skye
Transfer to the crematorium and a solid wood (usually cedar) sustainably-sourced coffin
Cremation fees for an unattended committal at the crematorium of our choice
Hand delivery of the ashes to any mainland address in England, Wales and Scotland including the Isle of Skye
All costs associated with the delivery of an unattended cremation when the Planholder dies

What's not included:

The use of a hearse, limousine or flowers
A funeral ceremony at the crematorium
A minister or a celebrant
A choice of crematorium
Mourners attending the committal at the crematorium

Important to know.

  • What's included: A pure cremation means we will collect the deceased, bring them into our care, perform the cremation and return the ashes to loved ones. Unlike a traditional funeral, there is no ceremony at the crematorium, so no celebrant or family attendees and no hearse, limousine or flowers.
  • All-inclusive: a Pure Cremation plan includes everything you need for a respectful cremation. Unlike some other plans, there is no extra charge for things like urgent collection, a larger coffin, or to return the ashes to the family’s home.
  • Bestselling / Most popular / Most trusted / Britain’s favourite / Britain's Number 1: Pure Cremation is Britain's bestselling funeral plan according to research estimated by Mintel in 2025. A Pure Cremation funeral plan is a direct cremation funeral plan, so please read ‘What's included’ above to ensure it will meet your needs.
  • More affordable / Save over £2,000: A pure cremation does not include a ceremony and so costs less than a traditional funeral. Please read What's included’ above to ensure it will meet your needs. A traditional funeral costs an average of £4,713. (Pure Cremation Cost of Funerals Index July 2026).
  • £50 off a single payment funeral plan only. If you choose to pay with monthly instalments, you'll get a £100 gift card instead.
  • If someone were to die at home without a plan and their loved ones were to arrange a pure cremation with us, it would cost £1,855.
  • If you pay in monthly instalments, your plan is at risk if you do not keep up with monthly payments.
  • Paying in monthly instalments means an instalment charge is added, so the total cost is higher than the single payment price.
  • If you pay in instalments and die before the qualifying period, the outstanding balance will need to be paid so that we can provide the funeral.
  • Nothing more to pay: As long as you have paid in full, or 24 months if paying by instalments. You must not be in arrears.
  • The total cost of your funeral plan includes a proportion of funds which is transferred to the trust when received. See details about the trust.
  • More 5* Reviews: Pure Cremation has more 5* reviews on TrustPilot, Reviews.io and Google than any other funeral plan provider. See purecremation.co.uk/verify.
  • If someone dies in Scotland, the cremation will take place at Clyde Coast and Garnock Valley crematorium or The Hurlet crematorium, both are owned by our trusted partner Horizon.
  • On occasion we may prefer to offer a cremation in England and Wales at a trusted partner's crematorium too, but this will be only when agreed by the deceased's family.
  • Gift card: How to claim information sent before December. Offer ends 30th September. See purecremation.co.uk/giftcard for full T&Cs.
  • Afternoon Tea gift: Claim information will be sent before December. T&Cs available at purecremation.co.uk/afternoontea.

Frequently asked questions

What is the Pure Price Promise?

With a Pure plan, everything you need is included. Some other providers charge for doctor’s fees, or to return jewellery, for a bigger coffin, for collection from home or to return the ashes. Not Pure – we include everything that is needed for a respectful cremation, so there’s nothing more for you or your family to pay.

What if my family want to attend the cremation when the time comes?

We do offer friends and family the option to come to our crematorium to hold their own short service if they wish, so they can spend some quiet time with their loved one at the crematorium. The coffin will be placed in the room before they arrive.

There is no Funeral Director or celebrant present and no service. Some families like to play their favourite music or deliver a reading. You are welcome to bring flowers to place on the coffin.

This option to attend is from £395 in our Oak Room (for up to 12 people), or from £645 in our Ceremonial Hall (for up to 100 people). It’s from £995 at any crematorium we partner with.

How much does a funeral cost?

The cost of funeral plans in the UK varies based on plan type, service levels, and location.

A Pure Cremation plan is more affordable than a traditional funeral plan, and has no hidden costs. When you take out a plan at today's prices, you protect yourself and your family against rising funeral costs and inflation.

You can choose to pay us in one single payment or in monthly instalments. Once arranged, you do not need to pay anything else. With other providers, it is worth checking their small print, as they may have additional costs that mean you could pay more than their published prices depending on your circumstances.

How can I buy a Pure Cremation Funeral Plan?

First, get your FREE quote or call our team on 0800 470 23 93.

Then, if you do take out a plan, carefully read the documentation we will post to you, and file it somewhere safe but easy to find. If you decide to cancel, the details are in that documentation. Then you can rest easy and get back to enjoying life.

Can I take out a funeral plan for someone else?

Yes – in fact many people take out a plan for their parents or partners. When buying a plan, you will need to say who the plan is for, and it is best to list yourself as the representative for that plan.

What’s the difference between over 50s life insurance and a funeral plan?

Over 50s life insurance is a whole-of-life policy that pays a cash lump sum to beneficiaries upon your death. Over 50s plans can never guarantee to cover the cost of a funeral.

A funeral plan, however, is an agreement with a funeral plan provider to fund and organise funeral expenses according to your wishes. They offer greater control and peace of mind regarding funeral arrangements, ensuring your life is celebrated the way you want.
